About Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University

Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU) is a public state university located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Established in 2005 by an Act of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature when the veterinary education stream was carved out of ANGRAU (the agricultural university), SVVU is the lead state veterinary, dairy and fisheries university for Andhra Pradesh.

SVVU operates 5 affiliated colleges of veterinary science (Tirupati, Proddatur, Garividi, Korutla — pre-bifurcation, now restructured), the College of Dairy Technology and the College of Fisheries, plus 30+ research stations. The university offers UG (B.V.Sc & A.H — 5.5-year programme), PG (M.V.Sc), MBA in Agribusiness, PhD and certificate programmes across veterinary, dairy and fisheries sciences.

Eligibility

B.V.Sc & A.H: Class 10+2 from a recognised board with PCB and English at 50%+ aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PwBD) and a valid AP EAPCET 2026 (Agri stream) rank. M.V.Sc: B.V.Sc & A.H from a recognised university with at least 65% OPGPA / 7.0 OGPA on a 10-point scale and a valid AP PGCET / ICAR AICE-PG score. MBA Agribusiness: Bachelor's with at least 50% and AP ICET rank. PhD: Master's with 65%+ OPGPA / 7.5 OGPA and qualifying SVVU PhD entrance / ICAR AICE plus interview.
