About Berhampur University

Berhampur University, established in 1967, is a state university located at Bhanja Bihar, Berhampur (in Ganjam district), southern Odisha. The university serves the southern Odisha region — Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri districts — and is the second-oldest state university of Odisha after Utkal.

Berhampur University has 18 PG teaching departments organised into faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Sciences, Commerce and Management. It affiliates 70+ UG and PG colleges across southern Odisha. NAAC A grade accredited. The Department of Earth Sciences and the Department of Marine Sciences are research-focal units (given Berhampur's proximity to the Bay of Bengal coast).
